Well, in a prior post I did mention how I wasn't going to stress about the weeds this summer, right? What a summer of relentless rain and cool temps. Amidst all this my garden is growing like crazy but so are the the weeds! I have passed the point of believing I can overcome these invasive plants - not sure I'll ever catch up, but thought you might enjoy some progress pictures of our garden. If you need a reminder of how our garden looked just 5 weeks ago check out my post from June 6, 2009. What a drastic difference. As you can see the beans, peas, pumpkins and squash are all doing great, our tomatoes are also providing daily tasty treats (just cherry for now, but the bigger varieties are producing too). The raspberries and currants are also ripening faster than we can pick this week - Yum! Unfortunately more rain in the forecast for us tonight....this is shaping up to be quite a wet summer, I haven't needed to water the garden in weeks - Must go start dinner - penne pasta in a garlic oil sauce with cherry tomatoes & swiss chard (both from the garden), feta and grilled chicken, I'm also making a yummy raspberry buttermilk dessert cake - more info on that in my next post - promise it will make your mouth water, better to be prepared - buy raspberries on your next trip to the market....
