October 12, 2009 - Determined

Over this windy cool fall weekend we found ourselves DETERMINED (after last week's rainy weekend) to spend the afternoon out on the water,  despite that this was our high temperature for the day,

The winds were blowing 10-20 all morning but the lake the water was only a little choppy, so we threw all caution to the wind, and headed out, after all we're hearty New Englanders and with all the wool I've been knitting we'd no doubt be warm, right....

Well maybe we were just  a little cold, but it was worth it for the views...

Several minutes later mother nature had her own ideas...

So we raced off to follow the sun, which we soon found again after a light sprinkling of rain...

We had just a little more time before the clouds caught back up with us to enjoy this...

Then we quickly headed back towards our dock...

Upon arriving we quickly buttoned up the boat and within minutes the skies looked like this...

Although we would have liked to stay out longer, we're glad we left when we did, the wind picked up and the lake kicked up too, plus we came home to see one of the locals out for her afternoon walk...

What a beautiful weekend... Another dusting of snow expected tonight and into tomorrow, so on this Columbus day we'll just try to enjoy what's left of Fall (even if it is 26 degrees this morning);  with that it seems Winter is on her way.
