The Build - Week 1: Excavating

Excavation was well under way,
until a week of rain (and rain in the forecast this week too, ugh!),
So naturally we're in a bit of a holding pattern right now;
But at least the kids are enjoying the massive dirt piles -)

We're hoping for a bit of break in the weather tomorrow and
maybe for the footers to go in tomorrow afternoon or Thursday,
after that, you guessed it - more rain
Building in New Hampshire is not quite as simple as we imagined;
I'm so anxious for them to dig the frost walls - five feet down -
Hoping we don't need dynamite to blast the ever so common ledge here
It is the "Granite State" after all;
Up to my neck in quite a mess
and  prepping for another horse show  -
Nikki's knee deep in competition now that she's 8 - more later on that :-)

  1. Oh my word, you weren't kidding. Younguys really mean business. I wish you the best of luck with this process and pray the weather cooperates for you. Please post lots of pictures along the way and especially of the finished project.
