Tomorrow our Excavator will begin digging, concrete will soon be poured,
an addition to our small house on this homestead will go up;
I couldn't be more excited that all we've been dreaming of
for more than 2 years is finally about to be realized;
Visions for our property from the moment we bought it are upon us
and at last within our reach -
And yet there are some little things I know I'm going to miss...
All those field stone garden beds (4 to be exact)
and so many stone steps with so many little wild flowers and beautiful,
yes beautiful, weeds mixed in
I will miss this old part of our property
and think often about the hands that carefully placed these stones so many years ago...
But I look forward to seeing all that stone in our new living room
for it will be a beautiful Stone Chimney which I will look at each day,
smile in that pay tribute to the hands that stacked that stone;
smile in that pay tribute to the hands that stacked that stone;
This focal point on the front corner of our home - need I say more?
It will find new spot, I hope one which it will love equally;
I hope that it will continue to bring us the sign that spring is here and be a source of food upon which our bees and hummingbirds depend upon in our often cold spring climate;
I am excited to share with all of you our progress each week,
to see the new space which we have been planning for so long
and to share with you our home!
