Weekending - Race Day

Weekend scenes from the first big Race Day this year, a day that starts way before sunrise.
Today I slept in until 6 a.m. which really made for a good start to the week, a nice Monday.

Arriving at the Mountain before the snow cats have even finished grooming - now that's early

What a great day, we all had so much fun.  There's nothing comparable to watching your 9 yr. old speed down the mountain at a pace that is ummm, Wicked Fast.  Oh how both of my kids love the speed and vertical adrenaline that comes with ski racing.
So many more race days to come later in the season, but for now I'm off to a busy week -
A birthday party/playdate this afternoon for a friend of Nikki's, Indoor Winter Riding training tomorrow, a family ski trip on Wednesday and
hopefully a little knitting on my new sweater project too - Would it be okay to skip cooking this week and just knit?  I'm guessing my family might boycott that idea, what do you think?
Catch you all towards the end of the week...

  1. That does look like fun! I wish we lived somewhere where skiing is just part of the daily life. The kids both look so official in their ski gear.
