Join Me for Spring Cleaning Week April 12-16

As you've probably noticed in my links section below, I really enjoy the Simple Living websites.  This week's topic on Simple Mom is Spring Cleaning.

Last year, Simple Mom broke spring cleaning down into 10 days and this year they're once again helping us simplify, 5-7 days and you can check Spring cleaning off your list.
Day 1 of Spring Cleaning week focuses on:
Decluttering: Getting rid of anything that’s not useful or beautiful.
This is my favorite part of cleaning.   Each time I declutter a room, I suddenly feel I have so much more space.  That's a good feeling.  Decluttering is key because many houses in our area of New Hampshire are small and ours in no exception.   House size in our area  spawned out of the need to keep homes heated during our long cold winters (older larger homes are generally more difficult and expensive to heat).   We love our little house when it's 20 below and we're sitting comfortably at 75 degrees with only the woodstove to heat our spaces.  But, small house living means space is at a premium and the number of sports, crafting, woodworking, gardening and homeschooling materials only add to the amount of "stuff" we have around us.  So, I'm off this sunny, but cold, Monday morning to begin my decluttering process -armed with my handy thrift shop donation baskets, which will no doubt be filled by mid-afternoon.  If you'd like to join me in getting your house ready for Spring hop on over to Simple Mom for more information on Spring Cleaning Week, tomorrow you can say
Happy Cleaning!
